How to follow injury reports

The three documents that decide whether Aaron Jones plays, in the order they are published.

1. Practice participation

On practice days the team lists each player as a full, limited or non-participant. This describes practice only. A limited day early in the week is common and does not by itself mean a player will miss the game.

2. Game designation

With the final practice report of the week, the team assigns a game status such as out, doubtful or questionable, or no designation at all. This is the first document that speaks to the game itself, which is why this site reports it separately from practice participation.

3. The inactive list

Shortly before kickoff each team names the players who will not dress. This is the only definitive answer to “is Aaron Jones playing this week?”. Until it is published, even a clean designation is not a guarantee.

Why old reports do not count

Injury reports are dated and belong to one week of one season. An earlier report, a headline about a past absence or a projected return date from another site does not establish current availability. That is why the Aaron Jones injury update shows “Not verified” rather than carrying a value forward.

Where to check

Use the dated team report first, then the game-day inactive list. The official destination is the Minnesota Vikings injury report. If you play fantasy, run the start-or-sit checklist after that check, not before.
